Once you’ve unpacked, you can make your way to one of the pubs or restaurants that the town has to offer, or cook a meal in the well-equipped kitchen/diner, savouring your meals sat around the dining table or relax in the sitting room whilst you watch your favourite shows on the TV.

You will be able to hear the waves crashing from your bedroom and in the morning you can take your coffee out into the outdoor beach hut, where you can soak up calming sea views, a great way to start any day.

When ready, take time to explore your local surroundings by walking to the Watchet Boat Museum, or the East Quay arts centre which also has a cafe , take a leisurely stroll along the Beach, or spend the afternoon getting up close and personal with exotic animals at the Tropiquaria Wildlife Park.

You can walk along the beach to Blue Anchor where there is a nice cafe or carry on to Dunster, enjoying the views across the channel towards Wales, and wander through the medieval streets of Dunster with the beautiful castle towering above, If you get tired, why not take the steam train back again.

A short drive west along the coast will bring you to Minehead, where the tranquil grounds of Blenheim Gardens await, as do the lush, golden sands of Minehead Beach.

Whilst you’re in the region, why not stop by the National Trust landmark of Dunster Castle and Watermill, or perhaps take an exhilarating bike ride through the stunning scenery of the Dunkery & Horner Wood National Nature Reserve.

Enjoy the friendliness of the small harbour town and the beautiful countryside and views around at Oyster Catchers.

The popular seaside resort of Minehead occupies a wonderful sheltered spot beneath the dramatic North Hill, on the lovely West Somerset Coast. This welcoming town boasts a mile long esplanade, providing a wonderful backdrop to the golden beach, whilst the pretty harbour, visited in the summer by the famous paddle steamer Waverley, offers excellent fishing opportunities. Enjoy a nostalgic steam train journey from the seafront on the West Somerset Railway, or visit Blenheim Gardens, winner of many awards for its beautiful floral displays. Renowned for the largest herd of red deer in England, Exmoor National Park with its wooded valleys, pretty bridlepaths and heather clad moors, is well worth a visit, whilst the magnificent Norman Castle at nearby Dunster is a must.
